FIAT 500 title
Driving a Fiat has, for a long time, been better for the environment. As one of Europe’s leading compact car manufacturers, our vehicles are, by definition, more respectful of their surroundings. But now it’s official.
JATO, world leader for consultancy and research in the automotive industry, has declared Fiat the manufacturer with the lowest volume-weighted average C02 emissions (137.3g/km) amongst all its major competitors.
And cars don’t come much greener, or cooler, than the new Fiat 500. Look past its iconic looks and you’ll find a range of engines that are all Euro 5 compliant. The 75bhp 1.3 MulitJet 16V also comes with a particle filter (DPF) as standard. And like all our MultiJet engines, it’s fitted with a new generation turbocharger which combines exceptional performance with low fuel consumption.
But the Fiat 500 isn’t the only Fiat you could find yourself falling for. There are also the equally beautiful, and environmentally friendly, Panda, Grande Punto and Bravo models – all of which are available in versions which cost only £35 a year in road tax. Plus, on these versions, from October London drivers will be exempt from the congestion charge.
ABOUT FIAT
-
did you know?
Fiat is one of the world’s carmakers that has responded most effectively to the need to limit the impact that transport has on the environment.
To achieve this important goal, Fiat proposes concrete solutions that are within everyone’s reach and are on the market today. For example, it is European leader for the production of compact cars, by definition the most environment-friendly. Or the launch of the Fiat 500 which introduces Euro 5 Ready engines (petrol and diesel) two years ahead of the deadline. That is not all. Fiat’s commitment has also resulted in the decision to introduce Euro 5 engines on the majority of its engine range by the end of 2009.
CONGESTION CHARGE EXEMPTPractical advantages for our customers include a full range of cars which will be exempt from the revised London Congestion Charge due for implementation in October, with the new 500, Panda, Grande Punto and Bravo all available with engines emitting less than the 120g/km required to not pay the charge.
